Superstar Mahesh Babu is diversifying his portfolio by investing in Shotgun Games, a Mumbai-based interactive entertainment company that develops action adventure games. This move will see him step into the global gaming space.
Shotgun Games is currently working on an action adventure game titled Takedown: Genesis that will be available on PC and consoles in the US, UK and Europe. It will be directed by filmmaker Vicky Arora and will bring high quality console gaming and story telling with Indian talent. The co-founders of the company have confirmed their association.
Mahesh Babu has an existing portfolio of investments. He is an associate of AMB Cinemas, a multiplex chain that he launched in partnership with Asian Cinemas. He is also an associate of AN Restaurants that was launched in partnership with Asian Group and Minerva. Additionally, he is also associated with Fitday, a Hyderabad-based start-up working in the nutraceutical and healthy snacks space.
He has also been part of an angel round with Mithronsmart.
This latest investment reflects how the Indian film fraternity has taken an interest in the technological and new-age space.
On the film front, Mahesh Babu is getting ready to launch one of his most awaited projects, Varanasi, directed by acclaimed filmmaker SS Rajamouli.
